dr680 power pack
The DR680 is very power hungry so I made a simple 12V power pack. I used standard 1.2V NiMH batteries as they are dirt cheap. I found a suitable holder for 10 batteries (conrad art nr 615617, clip art nr 650514). For me this is a neat solution as the batteries can be used elsewhere.
Freshly charged batteries will output more then 13V and I'm not sure the DR680 likes voltages over 13V so I put a diode in series to drop 0.7V. As a bonus this opens the possibility to use 2 holders.
The diodes are in the heat shrinking tube.
Now the only drawback is to charge 20 batteries...
If you really want peace of mind you might opt for a 7Ah lead battery for roughly the same cost.
