weekend project

I use a spare tablet as alarm clock and I want to use it also for some radio listening.

As I still have a few LM386 I decided to use just that, it's for my bedroom so it does not have to go loud.

I also found a 12V wall wart in my box with power supplies that idles under 1W, perfect to be 'always on' as the idle current of the LM386 is only 5mA.

The schematic is the minimal parts example of the datasheet. I used a bigger output capacitor.

The input is capacitively coupled, according to the datasheet there is a 50K resistor to ground inside.
Both channels are summed with R1 and R2.

I found the gain to be perfect. As there is no need for input or output sockets everything fits in a small box.
