I finally got myself a raspberry pi.

To my surprise I got it working first time by following the instructions. Even the wifi dongle worked first time.
I also found two 26-way idc headers in one of my component boxes, just what is needed for a small breakout board for the GPIO connector.
The whole thing is very python oriented so this might be a good opportunity to crank up my python skills.
