I constructed this signal tracer/tone generator more than 15 years ago and it has been collecting dust over the last decade or so.
I really like the simple mechanical solution to force power off. No processor needed for this.
Now, this VU meter begs to be reused. Maybe another vintage style box, I have an idea for a box with a usb soundcard and a passive tonecontrol. I've set my mind on a AD8656 opamp for the make up gain stage. Time to leave those 5532 and TL072's behind.
