amature theatre 2
In 1983 we moved to a brand new (city ownded) building.
Capacity is 250 seats.
light
In 1983 there where only 4 dimmer connections available for this bridge, if you needed more then cables had to be strung, with a ladder mind you!
To make matters worse there were only 12 dimmer channels.
The original analog dimmer packs are still in use via a DMX convertor, not bad after 25+ years.
The 12 channel system was quickly replaced with a 24 channel system on our own expense.
sound
The theatre was designed from a 'community center' perspective so it lacked basicly everything you needed for performing a theatre play. No mixer, no amps and no speakers apart from the columns for delivering a speech.
There where a couple of TEAC tape machines however.
Later we acquired some speakers and a 4 channel amp.
All of this is history now, today we have 48 dimmer channels and plenty of speakers and amps. There is also a nice Midas mixing console and a Strand lighting desk.
None of this is needed since I now only use a notebook and pcstage (highly recommended) which takes care of light and sound at the push of a button.
